CAPMAS noted that the beverage industry’s index reached 379.92 during July 2021, compared to June 2021, where it reached 368.63, an increase of 3.06 percent, due to the increased demand for beverages in the summer season.

The ready-made garment industry index reached 100.57 during July 2021, compared to June 2021, where it reached 98.80, an increase of 1.79 percent, in order to meet the needs of the market during Eid Al-Adha.

The index for the chemical materials and products industry reached 95.66 during July 2021, compared to June 2021, where it reached 111.22, a decrease of 13.99 percent, due to a decrease in demand as a result of the stagnation of contracting activity.

The record number for the pharmaceutical, chemical and pharmaceutical industries amounted to 104.26 during July 2021 compared to June 2021, when it reached 124.67, with a decrease of 16.37 percent, due to the Eid al-Adha holiday and the availability of stock.

CAPMAS updated the index methodology using the base year 2012/2013 and at the level of the industrial activity indices according to the Industrial Activity Index (ISIC Rev.4) and using the monthly index (producer prices based on 2012/2013).
