Talaat's remarks came during his participation in the 30th session of the International Conference on Technology Management, co-organized by the Nile University and Graduate School of Technology Management (GSTM) of the University of Pretoria.

Talaat pointed out that the State is keen on using emerging technologies to achieve the development goals.

The minister noted Egypt had launched its national strategy for AI, pointing out a national strategy for smart cities is currently being developed.

A plan for building capacities of digital technologies for more than 200,000 in a year is being implemented, the minister underlined.

The coronavirus pandemic gave several opportunities for Egypt to accelerate the pace of digital transformation by upgrading the technological infrastructure, digitizing more services, and spreading the use of the emerging technologies, he mentioned.
