Eastern Co’s sales tax hits LE 42B in FY2016/17

CAIRO – 9 July 2017: Eastern Company has paid a total of LE 42 billion ($2.3 billion) in sales tax to the public treasury during the fiscal year 2016/17, Chairman Mohammed Haroun said Sunday.

Minister of the Public Sector Ashraf Al Sharkawy demanded the company to put an integrated plan to increase exports through diversifying the company products and promoting their quality.

Sharkawy also urged the company’s officials to start operating its factory in the 6th October City soon.

Eastern Company is a listed company on the Egyptian Exchange with a 45 percent stake owned by the private sector
