He also referred to other joint projects, including the implementation of the third stage of Cairo Metro Line 3, the developing of the train signaling system along the 208km-long Cairo-Alexandria line and 250km-long Beni Sef/Assiut line.

During a meeting with French Ambassador here Stéphane Romatet on the occasion of the end of his tour of duty, Wazir thanked the French diplomat for all efforts he exerted to develop relations between the two countries in all domains, especially in the transport sector development.

The French diplomat expressed appreciation for Egypt's political leadership that encouraged developing fruitful cooperation between both countries over the past years.

The two sides reviewed a number of transport projects that will be financed by the French government, including manufacturing 55 trains for the first line of Cairo Metro, setting up Aswan/Toshka/Wadi Halfa rail line, transforming Abu Qir train to a metro and establishing a rail line between Rubeiki and Tenth of Ramadan city.

They underlined the importance of speeding up the implementation of these projects as they will help upgrade the railway sector in Egypt.
