CAIRO - 25 August 2021: The Ministry of International Cooperation will launch the first edition of the Egypt International Cooperation forum "Egypt-ICF" on September 8 and 9.

 

The forum will be held under the slogan "Partnerships to achieve sustainable development" with high-level international and regional participation, under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

 

The ministry stated, in a press statement, Wednesday, that the forum, which will combine physical attendance and virtual participation, will be attended by a number of major economic and social development institutions, including the United Nations and the World Bank Group.

 

The ministry pointed out that the forum will be attended by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the African Development Bank Group, and the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, in addition to the presence of a number of ministers and policy makers from Africa, Asia and Latin America, in addition to heads of international financial institutions, and representatives of bilateral and multilateral development partners. Parties, representatives of the business community and the private sector, and international and regional research centers.

 

Minister of International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat, said that for the first time an international agenda for international cooperation and development financing has been launched by a country, the Arab Republic of Egypt, which reflects Egypt's regional and global position and its leading role in the international cooperation file.

 

She stressed that Egypt's organization of this forum reflects the belief of the political leadership in Egypt and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in the importance of unifying the efforts of countries and directing international cooperation and development financing to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development for peoples, especially in emerging and developing economies, with a focus on the continent of Africa, which represents the strategic depth of Egypt.

 

She pointed out that the most important feature of the Egypt Forum for International Cooperation and Development Finance is that it will constitute an opportunity to present and discuss countries' views on partnerships to achieve sustainable development. This gives an opportunity to share ideas between countries on the one hand and between financing institutions and development partners on the other.
