CAIRO – 8 July 2017: A delegation from the Polish Pomerania investment zone will visit Egypt on Sunday to review investment opportunities in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, Minister of Trade and Industry Tarek Kabil said Saturday.

During their four-day visit, members of the high level business delegation will discuss establishing a Polish industrial zone in the Suez Canal area, Kabil said in a press statement.

He added that the delegation will be introduced to the procedures of investing in the area.

Head of the Egyptian Commercial Office in Warsaw, Ahmed Antar, said that the delegation’s trip comes as a result of Kabil’s visit to Poland in March, where the minister signed an agreement to start a “business bridge” between both countries.

Trade and economic relations between Egypt and Poland are expected to boom over the coming period.

Last week, the Polish Chamber of Commerce Association and the Egyptian Commercial Office in Warsaw organized an economic cooperation conference to discuss boosting relations.

More than 100 Egyptian and Polish companies attended the conference.
The initial establishment of a joint commerce chamber will generate mutual trade exchange amounting to over $1 billion between both states.

In addition, Poland plans to establish large investment projects in Egypt, the Commercial Diplomatic Counselor Abdel Aziz El Sherif said from Warsaw.

During the Visegrad summit that kicked off last week in Budapest, Hungary and was attended by President Abdel-Fatah el-Sisi, Poland’s Prime Minister Beata Szydło said that Egypt is considered a ‘very important partner’ to Poland.
