CAIRO, 7 July 2017: Investment and International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr assured on Friday that women are the backbone of the developing societies especially in Egypt and Africa.

Speaking during her participation in a session about increasing African women's empowerment on the sidelines of Crans Montana Forum in Barcelona, Nasr said that women's empowerment leads to more stability and prosperity of their societies.

She also pointed to the importance of support for business women in investment in Africa, saying that most women work in unstable jobs with low salaries.

Nasr was elected as Vice President of Crans Montana African Women's Forum by Founder of the forum Ambassador Jean-Paul in the presence of 15 representatives from African countries.

The government is determined to maintain women rights in cooperation with civil society organizations, she said, noting that Article 2 of the investment law states gender equality in investment chances.
