Egypt’s Engineering Exports hike by 173% in April 2021

CAIRO – 26 May 2021: The Egyptian engineering exports surged by 173 percent in April 2021, reaching $226.3 million, compared to $82.8 million in the same month in 2020, according to a press statement released by the Engineering Exports Council.

 

The engineering exports rose in the first four months of the fiscal year 2020/2021 by 49 percent, reaching $967.7 million, compared to $650.2 million during the same period of the fiscal year 2019/2020.

 

The exports of the engineering products moreover witnessed an increase in the first 10 months of the fiscal year 2020/2021 by 22.2 percent, reaching $ 2.308 billion; compared to $ 1.888 billion in the same period of 2019/2020.

 

The top winning engineering sectors whose exports had the lion share are tableware and kitchenware by 51 percent; transportation vehicles by 43 percent; household appliances by 42.6 percent; cables by 41 percent; automotive components by 35 percent, and electrical and electronic industries by 21 percent.

 

Meanwhile the most important countries receiving Egyptian engineering exports are: The United Kingdom; Turkey; France; Germany; Spain; Greece; Slovenia; Italy; the Czech Republic in Europe while Saudi Arabia; Iraq; Jordan; Kuwait; Hong Kong; Lebanon; Amman; Yemen in Asia and Algeria; Morocco; Sudan; Kenya; Tunisia; Togo; Nigeria, and Ghana in Africa.

 

On another note, Ismail Gaber, Chairman of the General Organization for Import and Export Control (GOEIC), said that engineering industries are the third top sector in the growth rate during the first 4 months of the year.
