Presidential decree approving grant to fund sustainable management of persistent organic pollutants

CAIRO – 17 May 2021: The Official Gazette published Presidential Decision No. 723 of 2020 regarding approval of the letter of agreement between Egypt, the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the International Development Association regarding the provision of a grant of more than $ 750,000 through the multi-donor trust fund.

The grant aims to support pollution management and environmental health to fund the sustainable management of persistent organic pollutants project, signed on October 26, 2020.

The project seeks to improve the management of stockpiles of obsolete pesticides, including persistent organic pollutants and PCBs, and to dispose of them in an environmentally sound manner.
