CAIRO - 3 October 2019: Germany will remain a key partner of Egypt in various important fields with the aim of boosting political relations and supporting the economy, affirmed German Ambassador to Egypt Cyrill Nunn.

Berlin will continue to invest in expanding the network of German schools in Egypt, as well as offering support to the German University in Cairo and relevant education institutions, ambassador Nunn added.

The ambassador was addressing a celebration Wednesday night to mark the German Unity Day in the presence of a host of ministers, dignitaries, ambassadors and accredited foreign diplomats.

Senior Egyptian and German officials stress - during their frequent meetings - the importance of upholding a strong partnership that seeks meeting the aspirations of the Egyptian people, Nunn noted.

Nearly 1.8 million German tourists visited Egypt in 2018, the envoy said, affirming that the number of tourists eager to visit Egypt is on the rise.

Meanwhile, Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal said that the fraternity agreement between Cairo, Frankfurt and Stuttgart reflects the depth of relations between two countries.

He expressed hope for continuing bilateral cooperation in light of mega national projects being implemented nationwide
