CAIRO - 26 September 2019: Director of the Dubai Regional Media Hub and Arabic Language Spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State Erica Chiusano described the meeting of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi and U.S. counterpart Donald Trump as “fruitful and successful.”

In an interview with Al Arabiya TV channel, Chiusano pointed out that the United States currently prioritizes security, stability, and prosperity in the Middle East highlighting that the summit meeting tackled bilateral and regional affairs, as reported by MENA.

Chiusano stated that the cooperation between both Egypt and the United States takes place in various sectors, including economic aspects, expertise exchange programs, security, and combat against terrorism.

With regard to the Palestinian cause, Chiusano underlined the necessity to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict through serious negotiations in a way that satisfies both parties. As for the Syrian crisis, the official asserted that the United States works on defeating the Islamic State (IS). The super power also supports the political process led by the United Nations and the fulfillment of the principles indicated in the UN Security Council no. 2256.

Both presidents met on Monday in New York on the sidelines of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 47).
