CAIRO - 10 September 2019: Egypt will spare no effort to activate all mechanisms of joint action with Sudan, Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said.

On his Facebook account on Tuesday, at the end of his visit to Khartoum, Shoukry said that his talks with Sudanese officials tackled means of activating joint sector committees that aim at promoting ties.

He said that he delivered a message from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to leader of the Sovereignty Council of Sudan Abdel Fattah al Burhan on Egypt's support for the neighboring Arab country.

Shoukry said that he also held fruitful meetings with several Sudanese officials during which he expressed Egypt's keenness on restoring Sudan's normal role in the Arab and African regions.

The meetings also took up means to boost cooperation with Sudan in the face of the different challenges during the current transitional stage, he said.

The meetings focused on the vital fields, including health, education and providing basic services especially in the domain of electricity linkage, he added.

Shoukry invited Sudan's Foreign Minister Asmaa Abdullah to visit Cairo as soon as possible to continue coordination and consultation between the two countries.
