Egypt to phase out paper passport card for travelers at Cairo Airport

CAIRO - 7 April 2026: In a significant step toward Egypt’s digital transformation, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has announced the cancellation of the "Paper Passport Card" for Egyptian passengers.

Starting Saturday, April 11, 2026, travelers at all terminals of Cairo International Airport will no longer need to fill out these paper forms for departures or arrivals.

Sameh El-Hefny, Minister of Civil Aviation, emphasized that this change reflects the government’s commitment to improving services for travelers and keeping pace with global developments in the air transport industry.

The Ministry plans to implement this digital system gradually across all other Egyptian airports in the coming period. The Minister extended his gratitude to the security authorities for their cooperation and coordination, which were essential in making this institutional transition successful.
