CAIRO - 5 December 2022: Aswan Governor Ashraf Attia said some 516 projects within the "Decent Life" initiative were completed at a total cost of more than EGP 3.5 billion.
According to a statement released on Sunday, the governor noted that work is underway to finalize 682 other projects that cost over EGP 17.7 billion
He added that nearly 2,321 projects are targeted to be carried out in the Upper Egyptian governorate, in accordance with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to include all villages of Aswan in the initiative's projects.
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Thursday made a tour of El Hisas village in Sherbin township in Dakahliya governorate to follow up on the implementation rates of "Decent life" presidential initiative.
Sisi toured Al Hisas Primary School, the governmental services complex, the agricultural complex and met with a number of representatives of "Decent Life" foundation, volunteers, and residents of the village.
During his tour, the president listened to the efforts exerted as part of "Decent Life" initiative and visited the school library.
The implementation rate of projects carried out as part of "Decent Life" in El Hisas Village reached up to 99 percent as the projects include buildings, construction, infrastructure, and basic utilities with the total value of projects in Sherbin township amounting to EGP 4.5 billion.
Sisi also was briefed on the work of field teams that follow up on the implementation of projects in Sherbin township as 1,300 volunteers have participated in several projects in the governorate.
As regards food security, "Decent Life" foundation has already distributed 62,000 boxes of food across 18 townships in Dakahlia governorate along with helping in the marriage preparations of 100 orphan girls.
On the medical side, four medical convoys have been distributed in Sherbin township to offer medical services to 2,000 citizens.
Also, "Decent Life" foundation has extended urgent humanitarian aid to 50 poor families along with paying the education fees for 2,250 students in various educational phases.
