CAIRO – 20 March 2021: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi sent on Saturday a cable of congratulations to his Tunisian counterpart, Kais Saied, to greet him on the Tunisian Independence Day.

Sisi made a phone call with Saied in January to be assured of the latter’s safety after he received a poison letter.

The Tunisian President expressed his sincere appreciation for the president's sincere wishes, discussing the ways of enhancing bilateral relations and other international and regional issues of mutual concern.

Sisi and Said have not yet held any bilateral meetings since the latter took post in 2019.
