Lavrov, Abul Gheit to discuss boosting Russia-AL cooperation

MOSCOW - 4 July 2017:Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will hold talks here Wednesday with Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit on means of fostering cooperation in the economic, social and cultural domains.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Russian Foreign Ministry said Moscow highly appreciates holding dialogue with Arab States and seeks to realize peace and stability in the region and the whole world.

The talks will also tackle the conditions in Syria, Iraq, Libya and Yemen, added the statement.

The ministry said the talks will also address the diplomatic crisis of Qatar as well as means of settling the Palestinian issue.

The two sides will also discuss coordination on measures taken against international terrorism and religious extremism.
