CAIRO - 15 March 2020: Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives Aqila Saleh has called on the new national unity government to act for the withdrawal of mercenaries and foreign troops from Libya.

 


Saleh also urged the government to arrange for next elections on December 24, 2021.



Addressing a session on Monday, Saleh underlined the importance of ending the conflict and building the state as well as launching a comprehensive national reconciliation to create a stable Libya. 

 

Libyan Prime Minister Abdulhamid al-Dabaiba and the ministers at his government took oath of office Monday before the House of Representatives in Tobruk eastern the country.

 

Dabaiba pledged to "protect the independence and security of Libya as well as its territorial integrity," as reported by Sky News Arabia.

 

Head of the Presidential Council Mohamed al-Manfy that the new government "is in charge of creating the climate necessary to hold elections by the end of the year."
