In a statement issued on Thursday, UNHCR said the move came as a continuation to its efforts, aimed at supporting the Egyptian national response plan for containing the coronavirus pandemic.

The pandemic has created unprecedented challenges all over the world, a matter which has affected the asylum seekers and refugees, leaving them at a stake.

Egypt has generously treated refugees and asylum seekers along with the Egyptians, UNHCR Representative to Egypt and to the Arab League Karim Atassi said.

Additionally, Egypt included the asylum seekers and refugees in its plan for the national coronavirus vaccination, Atassi added.
