CAIRO – 23 February 2021: A vaccine shipment – consisting of 300,000 doses - granted by China to Egypt arrived to Cairo International Airport early on Tuesday.

Egypt is finalizing the vaccination of medical staff at quarantine hospitals, and will begin next week vaccinating high-priority citizens. The registration to get the vaccine is done either online or at certain health facilities. Afterwards, citizens get informed about the time and place where they will receive the vaccine.

In a similar context, Head of the Scientific committee to combat Coronavirus Dr. Hossam Hosni said Monday that the anti-COVID-19 protocol is constantly updated in accordance with the local and international studies.

“Egypt’s death rate of COVID-19 is in line with the global rates; however, not satisfying to us, as we seek to reach 100 percent cure rates for all Egyptians,” Dr. Hosni added.

The protocol set to cure patients with COVID-19 in Egypt has been updated four times thus far, said Hosni, stressing that it meets the international standards.

He further explained that the ministry plans to add more medicines, which have proven efficiency in faster recovery, to the protocol.

The number of recovered patients have reached so far 137,837 cases, according to the Ministry of Health.
