CAIRO – 14 February 2021: Minister of Education and Technical Education Tarek Shawky held a press conference Sunday to announce the plan for Spring 2021 semester and here it is:
The exams of high school senior-year students (Thanaweya Amma) will not be held before July, and will be electronic.
For middle school senior-year students (Grade 9), the finals of Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 will be held together at the end of the academic year.
For Grades 4-8 and Grades 10-11, the finals of subjects not counted in the total grade of the academic year will also be held together at the end of the academic year.
Speaking of such subjects, Grades 4-8 will take the final exams of each semester on two separate days.
As for subjects counted in the total grade of the academic year, the finals of Fall 2020 will be held on February 27-March 9.
No exams shall be held for kindergarten and Grades 1-3.
Solutions to evaluate students in Grades 1-8, and Grades 10-11 will be announced later.
The finals of each of Grades 4-8 will be held together on the same day.
The finals of Grades 11-12 will be held online from school.
Monthly exams will be held online in March, April, and May.
Parents can submit requests for their children to repeat the academic year without failing at the respective education administration.
Next week, the ministry will announce how Egyptian students abroad will take the exams and when.
The curricula will be available on various platforms for remote education purposes.
International schools have the freedom to set their own attendance policy.
Attending classes in-person is optional upon a signed request of the guardian. Also, extra group tutoring will be held in schools. Both will be an option starting March 10.
American Diploma students must take Egypt's EST in order to qualify for public universities and Egyptian private universities.
Spring 2021 will start on February 20 at international schools.
