CAIRO – 9 February 2021: Chairperson of Wafd Party Bahaa El-Din Abu Shoka announced Tuesday dismissal of eight members of the higher body of the Party during a press conference, where he revealed a “big conspiracy” was set against the party.

The dismissed members are: Former head of parliamentary body at the party Mohamed Abdel Aleem Daoud; Yasser el-Hodeeby, Tareq Sebaq, Mohamed Abdu, Nabil Abdullah, Hemdan el-Khalili, Hatem Raslan and Mohamed Helmy Sweilam.

During the conference, which was held at the party’s headquarters in Dokki, Giza, Abu Shaqqa stated that a conspiracy to topple the party is revealed, and its means were “all fourth-generation wars.”

He explained that what he called as conspiracy was based on “rumors, unknown funds,” stressing that he has audio and visual evidence that support his words.

The conference was attended by journalists, although it was first announced that no media personnel will be allowed. The party’s official Facebook page live broadcast the conference.
