BUDAPEST - 3 July 2017: Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al- Sisi expressed on Monday his appreciation for Hungary's balanced stances and its unwavering support of Egypt.

At a joint press conference with Hungarian Prime Minister Victor Orban, Sisi said relations between Egypt and Hungary are deeply-rooted and are based on solid foundations.

He underlined the importance of continuing dialogue to face joint challenges and holding periodical meetings between the two countries on time to put into effect what was agreed upon.

As for the situation in Egypt, Sisi said the Egyptian leadership is not alone in fighting terrorism but it is supported by the people who are standing against radical ideas.

He said he discussed with the Hungarian premier enhancing international efforts against terrorism and the importance of addressing the countries and bodies that support and fund terrorism.

We do not differentiate between Egyptians on grounds of religion. They all have the same rights and full protection should be provided to all Egyptians. We should not be thanked for protecting our people, he said.

Sisi said the Egypt is undertaking tough economic measures that many countries were unable to take. The Egyptians accepted these tough measures because they are convinced of the importance of achieving stability.

He said talks with the Hungarian prime minister tackled fostering bilateral cooperation in all domains, especially economic ones, adding that Egyptian-Hungarian business council will convene later in the day to further economic, trade and investment cooperation.
