6 Egyptian airports receive AHA health accreditation; latest was Cairo Airport

CAIRO – 6 February 2021: The Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation praised the accreditation of the Cairo International Airport after receiving the AHA health accreditation from the ACI.

The number of Egyptian airports that received the ACI health accreditation has increased to six airports, by adding the Cairo International Airport to the list of: Borg al-Arab, Luxor, Aswan, Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh.

 

The ACI health accreditation program enables airports to verify the validity of their own measures throughout their facilities and works to reassure travelers on using airport facilities. It also enhances recognition of professional excellence in maintaining safe health facilities in accordance with the guidelines of ICAO and the World Health Organization (WHO).

 

Egypt became one of the top African states that have more airports that received AHA accreditation.

 

Mohamed Saeed Mahrous, the Chairman of Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation, said that such achievement indicates a high degree of professionalism among workers at Egyptian airports to meet international standards.

The accreditation of Luxor and Borg el-Arab airports last month came days after hosting 32 delegations participating in the 2021 IHF World Men's Handball Championship, Mahrous said, adding “this was a test to the capabilities of the Egyptian airports to deal with the Coronavirus crisis while receive the delegations and maintaining sterilization at all travel steps.
