Egypt, France air forces conclude joint drills

CAIRO – 2 February 2021: Egypt and France air forces concluded, Tuesday joint drills that took place during the several past days according to the military spokesperson, Tamer al Refaei.

According to the statement, the training included engaging in several activities using the latest models of multi-role combat aircrafts.

The drills reflected the advanced level of the forces along with the cooperation between the two countries along with sharing and tactical experience.

These drills came within the framework of developing military relations and joint cooperation of the Air Force with counterparts and allied countries.

The training was attended by Lieutenant General Mohamed Abbas Helmy, Commander of the Egyptian Air Force along with several French and Egyptian officials.

Last November, the Egyptian and French naval forces carried out drills by frigates Taba and Jean Bart in the Mediterranean this week.

The drills consisted of different sailing formations; evaluation of surface, air, and submarine threats and various scenarios to deal with them; counterattacking strikes launched by Egyptian F-16 aircraft.
