CAIRO - 31 January 2020: Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry discussed on Sunday with the head of the African Union Commission Moussa Faki Mahamat preparations for the 34th summit of the African Union, to take place on Feb 6-7.
 
 
Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Hafez said on his Twitter account that talks come as part of continued coordination between the two sides to set the scene for the next summit.
 
 
The 38th meetings of the AU executive council will take place at a ministerial level on Feb 3-4.
 
 
It is expected that the meeting to be held at Tahrir Palace will deal with relations between Egypt and the Commission, African issues, ways to develop the continent, and the pivotal role that Egypt plays in establishing peace and stability.
