CAIRO, Jan 31 (MENA) - Cairo International Airport received on Sunday the first batch of Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine against coronavirus.

The first batch, including 50,000 doses, is part of a deal reached by the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement to get 20 million doses of the Coronavirus vaccine upon directives from the political leadership.

The shipment, weighing 198 kilograms, arrived on board a plane of the UAE Airlines.

Egypt has recently started vaccinating the medical teams in isolation hospitals, then the senior citizens and people with chronic diseases would receive their shots later.
