Egypt's PM inspects social housing projects for residents of unsafe slums

CAIRO, Jan 9 (MENA) – Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli inspected Saturday one of the social housing projects, being implemented in Dar el Salam neighborhood, to house the residents of the unsafe slums.

Minister of Housing Assem el Gazzar, and Minister of Social Solidarity Neven Qabbag accompanied Madbouli in his inspection tour, along with Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal and other officials.

The 230-feddan project, cost EGP 1.7 billion, is planned to have 134 buildings, including 4800 flats, 475 administrative units, and 292 commercial ones.

As the progress rate of the project hits 55 percent, Madbouli directed to get briefed on the completion and the furnishing processes of the residential units, to speed up the measures of handing out these lots to the inhabitants living in the unsafe areas.
