New giraffes imported from South Africa to Giza Zoo - Egypt Today

CAIRO – 22 December 2020: Giza Zoo will receive three new giraffes from South Africa Tuesday, after the zoo has lost a number of giraffes who died during the last period.

 

The zoo resorted to import new giraffes, which attract huge number of visitors.

 

Ahead of their arrival, the zoo has allocated a new house equipped especially for the new giraffes.

Children visiting the zoo love giraffes for its long neck and legs, making the longer wild animals with the bony protrusions on its head resembling the horns. There are nine species of giraffes and exits in Chad, South Africa, Niger and Somalia.

 

The three giraffes, which age 2 years old each, are two females and one male; they will arrive as part of an exchange system with South Africa’s Zoo. The three new giraffes will join “Sawsan” the only giraffe in Giza Zoo.
