CAIRO – 1 July 2017: Former Foreign Minister Mohamed al-Orabi urged all major powers to take a serious stance against Qatar in a statement on Saturday.

Al-Orabi told Egypt Today that neutral stances should be avoided and decisive positions must be taken by foreign countries in reference to the Arab-Qatari rift.

Putting pressures on European countries is the only solution to force these countries to avoid unclear and neutral positions that they have adopted since the beginning of the crisis, al-Orabi affirmed.

The UAE ambassador in Russia, Omar Ghobash, threatens further boycotts and sanctions against the oil-rich Gulf state of Qatar. He urged Qatar to comply with the demands made by Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the UAE; otherwise the state will face further consequences and more sanctions.
