Reports on death of MB's former guide denied

CAIRO - 1 July 2017: Reports on the death of Muslim's Brotherhood former guide Mahdi Akef in Al Manial hospital is baseless, a reliable source told MENA on Saturday.

The source added that Akef is still receiving treatment in the hospital.

The Ministry of Interior approved to move Akef from Tura prison to Al Manial hospital upon a request submitted by his family in January.

The 89-year-old Akef is standing trial over charges of inciting violence during clashes that took place outside the MB headquarters in Cairo before June 30 revolution.
