CAIRO - 10 December 2020: On the occasion of the International Anti-Corruption Day, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi affirmed on Wednesday that Egypt with its political leadership and people abide by the rule of law and reject all forms of corruption practices.

The President added that Egypt aims to establish deeply-rooted values of integrity and transparency, noting that all citizens are on equal footing under the law, according to a Presidential Statement on Wednesday.

Also, President Sisi praised efforts that are being exerted by the governmental institutions to fight corruption.

At the graduation ceremony of army's 1st medical batch in October 2019, President Sisi said that “compliment” could be one of corruption forms.

“A compliment is corruption; if you want to fight corruption in your country, do not pay anyone a compliment,” he said at the graduation of the first batch of Armed Forces' Faculty of Medicine students, indicating that some people do illegal acts and irregularities such as nepotism in favor of others as a kind of compliment.

On July 31, 2019, President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi asserted his keenness to establish a full database for Egyptians to fight corruption and help citizens live easier lives. In a session on digitization on the second day of the seventh edition of the National Youth Conference in the New Administrative Capital, Sisi clarified that all personal data are being dealt with as strictly classified.
