CAIRO - 1 July 2017: The Cairo Criminal Court on Saturday adjourned till 6 September the trial of 14 terrorists over charges of forming a Takfiri organization to assassinate political, security and military figures and carry out hostile operations against state institutions, vital facilities and security posts.

The court’s decision came at the request of the defendants’ lawyers in order to read papers of the case and hear the prosecution witnesses.

In May, Prosecutor General Nabil Ahmed Sadeq ordered referring the 14 terrorists to the criminal court.

Twelve of the terrorists are remanded in custody, while two are still on the run.

Three of the terrorists joined Daesh terrorist group in Syria, where they received military training. They were also orchestrating operations against the state and its institutions upon their return to Egypt.
