CAIRO - 20 November 2020: Assistant Arab League Secretary General Saeed Abu Ali said the celebration of the international day of solidarity with the Palestinian people, which falls on Nov 29, affirmed solidarity with the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights to self-determination, ending occupation and establishing a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
In a statement released on Thursday, Ambassador Abu Ali, who doubles as head of Palestine and occupied Arab territories at the Arab League, said the League was keen on holding a ceremony in its permanent premises every year to show support to the Palestinians and their right to struggle to end the Israeli occupation especially in view of the extraordinary conditions of the coronavirus that spread worldwide.
On this occasion, Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit will send a message to the world on this occasion in support of the Palestinian people. The message will be sent to Arab League delegates in various world countries as part of the solidarity ceremony.
The Arab League secretariat will also issue a special edition of its monthly magazine of "Palestine in A Month" which sheds light on all just aspects of the Palestinian issue, the Israeli schemes of annexation of more Palestinian lands as well as international stances in support of the Palestinian cause
