CAIRO- 27 November 2020: Presidential Adviser for Health and Prevention Affairs Mohamed Awad Tag El Din called on the football fans who watch a game between Zamalek and Al-Ahly in the African Champions League final on Friday to wear face masks in the gatherings.
 
In media remarks to “Happens in Egypt” talk show on MBC Masr on Thursday, he also asked them to apply the social distancing while they are watching the game as they will remain in one place for a long time to contain the coronavirus spread.
 
“The real vaccine against the coronavirus the citizens’ awareness because prevention protects a person from infection. The vaccine does not prevent infection by 100%. It only works to raise the person’s immunity and make him more able to resist the virus,” he said.
 
Egypt's Health Ministry said in a Friday statement that 368 new coronavirus cases were detected in the past 24 hours, upping the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 114,475.
 
The ministry added that 11 patients have died from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 6,596.
 
As many as 67 patients were discharged from isolation hospitals after receiving necessary medical care, taking the number of recovered cases to 102,268 so far, the spokesman said.
