Iraqi Forces: 250 Daesh militants trapped in Mosul

BAGHDAD - 30 June 2017: The number of the trapped Daesh militants in the old city in western Mosul is estimated at around 250 persons, most of them foreigners, the Iraqi counter-terrorism forces told Al Hurrah channel on Friday.

The final victory on Daesh will be declared within the next few days, Commander Abdul Ghani al-Asadi said.

Prime Minister Haider al Abadi will announce the victory very soon, Military Spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Rasool added.

The Iraqi forces regained al-Nuri mosque on Thursday in a move considered by Baghdad as the end of Daesh terrorist group.
