Health Ministry warns of neglecting COVID-19 precautionary measures

CAIRO – 26 October 2020: Egypt’s Health Ministry urged citizens to apply the preventive and precautionary measures against COVID-19, most importantly social distancing, to prevent further spread of the coronavirus throughout winter.

The ministry confirmed that isolation hospitals are ready to receive cases infected with the virus, noting that medical examination, diagnosis, and drug dispensing for mild-moderate cases can be carried out at all hospitals of the ministry.

The infected cases are being followed upon by the surveillance and investigation, the ministry stressed.

The total number of infected cases in Egypt reached 106,540 cases, while the novel virus' death toll reached 6,199, according to the World Health Organization (WHO) statistics.

On October 25, 143 new infected cases and 12 deaths were recorded, and the total number of recovered cases reached 98,903 cases.

The ministry has allocated the hotlines, 105 and 15335, to receive citizens' inquiries about the emerging coronavirus and infectious diseases. This is in addition to the WhatsApp number 01553105105, and the Egypt's Health application available on phones.
