CAIRO - 25 October 2020: No cases of Covid-19 have been detected at polling stations, and the anti-coronavirus measures are still being rigorously followed in the electoral process, spokesperson of the Local Development Ministry said Sunday.
 
Khaled Qassem told the Egyptian T.V. that only one case of high temperature was detected "due to the weather conditions" and was removed to a hospital. 
 
The House of Representatives election kicked off in Egypt on Saturday and will conclude Sunday evening. The results will be announced on Nov. 15 and the runoff  will be held for Egyptians abroad on Nov. 21 to 23 and in Egypt on Nov. 24 and 25.
 
A total of 568 seats are up for grabs in Egypt's upcoming parliamentary elections, while 28 seats (five per cent) will be named by the president, bringing the House's seats to 596.
