CAIRO – 29 June 2017: Bahrain security dismantled on Thursday “a terrorist cell” that planned attacks on state facilities and security forces in the Gulf country.
“The group's members, financed and supervised by al-Ashtar Brigades, one of the main Shiite rebel groups in Bahrain,”Head of General Security Service in Bahrain, Tarek al-Hassan said.

He added that large amounts of weapons and explosives were seized, and those who were allegedly involved in recent attacks that hit the kingdom were detained.
“The suspects used an uninhabited building in the area of al-Dier as a hideout where they stored their equipment as well as explosive materials and ready-made bombs,” Hassan said.

He added that the Bahraini authorities had opened an investigation into arrest of the rest of the group’s members.
