According to the American embassy in Egypt, Barsa is in a 3-day visit to Egypt, as he visited number of Cairo’s churches and archaeological sites on Tuesday along with US ambassador to Cairo, Jonathan Cohen

Cohen stated that US investments have improved water services to 140,000 people in Egypt.

Cohen further said, in a different context, “as part of our partnership with Egypt, the U.S. has provided U.S. 3.5 billion to save drinking water for 25 million citizens in Egypt, and saved more than one billion dollars to develop productivity and market the agricultural crops.”

This came during a tour paid by Minister of International Cooperation Rania el-Mashat to three projects in Luxor governorate, in Upper Egypt.

More than 100,000 citizens benefit from these projects, including small farmers, workers, women in rural Egypt and graduates.
