CAIRO – 8 October 2020: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received the Arab Development Action Shield award for the year 2020, on the 6th of Oct, from the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States Ahmed Abul-Gheit.
 
Sisi was granted this award during his meeting with a delegation from the Arab League.
 
The shield is given to developmental entrepreneurs, who have an unconventional thought and made a difference within their societies, said Presidency Spokesman Bassam Rady in media remarks given to “On My Responsibility” talk show on Sada Al-Balad channel on Wednesday evening.
 
President Sisi has pioneering development experience in the Arab world, as Egypt has witnessed great development in all fields since he assumed the presidency in June 2014, Hossam Zaki, Assistant Secretary-General and Supervisor of the Arab League Council told the talk show.
 
A total of 14762 projects have been completed since President Al-Sisi took office until June 30, 2020, at an estimated cost of about LE 2207.3 billion. 
 
Also, a total of 4164 projects are being implemented at a cost of LE 2569.8 billion, according to a Folder documenting what was accomplished in six years.
 
The Arab Development Action Shield is awarded every year by the League of Arab States, as Al-Sisi is the fourth person to be granted this shield.
 
Over the past three years, the Shield was awarded to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid of Dubai, King of Jordan Abdullah II, and the Prime Minister of Bahrain Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
