Sisi directs protecting tourism sector’s labor force, follows up on archaeological sites renovation

CAIRO – 7 October 2020: President Abdel Fattah el Sisi directed Wednesday offering all necessary protection to the labor force in the tourism sector amid the effects caused by the coronavirus pandemic outbreak and its negative consequences.

During meeting with Prime Minster Moustafa Madbouly and Tourism and Antiquities Minister Khaled Anani, Sisi was briefed on efforts of resuming tourism activities according to presidential spokesman Bassem Radi.

The meeting focused on the progress rate of projects carried out by the Tourism and Antiquities Ministry.

The president also called for continuing efforts of developing the archaeological sites nationwide as part of Egypt’s plan to restore its cultural status through the ongoing renovation of archaeological sites and building museums, especially the Grand Egyptian Museum and the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization.

Anani posted Sisi on the arrivals of tourists in South Sinai and Red Sea governorates as well as the number of tourist facilities which were granted operation approvals after meeting government guidelines aiming at curbing the outbreak of coronavirus
