CAIRO - 5 October 2020: The Armed Forces sent on Monday a number of semi-automatic bread production lines to Sudan upon President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's directives.

Two military transport aircraft, loaded with bread production lines and technicians, who will install and operate the production lines, took off from Cairo West Air Base en route to Khartoum International Airport in Sudan.

This move aims at lifting the burden off the shoulders of the Sudanese citizens in their recent crisis.

These production lines will help in alleviating the impact of the flash floods that hit the country and resulted in a remarkable bread shortage in many areas of Sudan.

On 2 October, Egypt sent three military aircraft equipped bread production lines to Sudan, according to a statement from the Egyptian Ministry of Defense.

The aircraft took off from eastern Cairo to Khartoum International Airport, carrying semi-automatic production lines and technicians to help the Sudanese people mitigate the devastating repercussions of floods that hit the country last month, the statement said.

Sudan has been struck by floods on August 14 caused by heavy rainfall in late July. The floods affected over 180,000 across states.

The aid was the third shipment of the Egyptian urgent assistance to the Sudanese people, according to the statement.
