Egyptian senior citizens exempt from metro ticket, people above 60 enjoy 50% discount

CAIRO - 4 October 2020: Senior citizens above 70 years of age have been exempt from the metro ticket, while those above 60 will have a 50 percent discount upon showing their national ID.
 
Tranportation Minister Kamel al-Wazir made the announcement Saturday while inspecting the newly opened metro station of Adly Mansour and the under-construction railway from the Administrative Capital to al-Salam and Ramadan 10 cities stretching along 84 kilometers. He stressed that the railway is opened for the public in October 2021.
 
The train ends at Adly Mansour metro station, and passes through Cairo-Ismailia Deser Road, Rubiky city north of the Suez railway, where it splits into two lines. The first line goes to Ramadan 10 City through the RingRoad and Badr City, and the second goes to the Administrative Capital and Qattamiya Airport. In the second phase of the project, the train will continue from Ramadan 10 City to Belbeis city of Sharkia governorate.
