CAIRO – 29 September 2020: The Chairperson of the National Election Authority Ibrahim Lasheen said Tuesday that the Parliamentary elections will be held as scheduled, refuting rumors claiming that a judicial verdict was issued to postpone the elections.

Lasheen said that the NEA is coordinating with the concerned parts to have the elections held as scheduled, from 21 to 25 October, adding that no judicial verdict was issued to postpone the elections.

A lawsuit was filed before the Administrative Judiciary against the occurrence of the coming parliamentary election, however the lawsuit was denied by the Supreme Administrative Court in accordance with the constitution, said Lasheen.
