CAIRO – 28 September 2020: Two terrorist elements were killed Monday in a police raid in Qalyubia governorate, while both were planning for a terrorist attack, according to a statement by the Ministry of Interior.

The two terrorists: Hossam Abd Rabbo (42 yrs) and Ahmed el-Sayyid (37 yers) were among others who were orchestrating terrorist attacks during Coptic holidays last April. A security crackdown thwarted their attempted attack, and killed seven of the terrorist elements. The confrontation resulted in the death of Lieutenant Colonel Mohamed el-Hofi.

National security department received information that the two terrorists were hiding in an apartment in Qalaj district. Security forces then raided the apartment immediately, and the fire exchange resulted in both elements’ death. They were found in possession of a machine gun, and a pistol and a number of rounds of different bullets.

Legal measures were taken as a result, and investigations into the incident kicked off.
