CAIRO - 7 August 2020: Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Al Sayed Al Quseir said Monday that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has instructed the officials to double the funding for the National Project for Veal Revival with an additional sum of LE 2 billion to serve the best interest of citizens.


In a statement released on Monday, Quseir said the board of the National Project for Veal Revival is benefiting 5,255 of young breeders and feed 64,694 cattle.



The total value of the funding so far reached 2.624 billion which offered to 15,300 beneficiaries to finance the purchase and feeding of 183,000 head of cattle.



The funding, which previously stood at LE1 billion, for the livestock project is carried out in coordination with the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation.


Livestock small and medium enterprises reportedly benefited from the CBE’s facilities, according to a June statement. 

 

The president directed that the preferential advantages enjoyed by the agricultural sector in Egypt be doubled in order to achieve the maximum possible return from local production

 
Al-Sisi stressed the endeavor to provide the best solutions to the challenges facing the agricultural sector, and to link agricultural production with the industries associated with it, in order to achieve the state's goal of increasing the area of agriculture on the horizontal and vertical levels, by increasing the cultivated area and applying modern methods of agriculture.
