CAIRO, Aug 30 (MENA) – Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa has spoken against building of places of worship on illegally-seized lands.

This is is totally because it is like building on state-owned property, thus violating law, Gomaa said in a statement Sunday.

He cited small mosques that had been built in the vicinity of waterways or railways.

The minister praised government efforts to regulate the building process in general and places of worship in particular.
