CAIRO – 13 August 2020: A Nile ferry that was transporting cars and citizens capsized earlier Thursday in Beheira governorate, leaving 4 drowned, and the search for other passengers is still underway.
Ambulance vehicles, security forces and river rescue team were deployed immediately to the accident site in El-Riyah Canal, where residents were helping forces to find the rest of the missing passengers.
Egypt Today obtained a footage and pictures of the sank ferryboat. Two other passengers were found and transported to a hospital to receive needed treatment.
Governor of Beheira Major General Hisham Amna announced disbursing emergency aid of L.E. 10,000 to the family of each victim in the accident.
