Egypt’s COVID-19 recovery rate jumps to 53.1% for first time

CAIRO – 8 August 2020: The Ministry of Health revealed that the rates of recovery of Coronavirus at isolation hospitals jumped to 53.1 percent for the first time.

 

The ministry has recorded a total number of recovered cases 50,553 thus far since the outbreak of the virus.

 

The ministry announced that 1,655 cases recovered from COVID-19 were discharged from hospitals, after receiving necessary medical care.

 

It further said that the World Health Organization stated that the disappearance of COVID-19 symptoms for a period of 10 days since the infection, is an indication for the patient’s recovery.

 

The ministry recorded 167 positive cases on Saturday, and 21 deaths.
