At a press conference held after the cabinet meeting in the New Alamein City, Heikal said Minister of Health Hala Zayed briefed the cabinet on the medical supplies and medicine needed by the Lebanese side to treat thousands of persons who were injured during the massive blast that hit the Lebanese city's port, killing 135 persons and injuring some 5,000 others.

Meanwhile, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Khaled Abdel Ghafar said that there is underway coordination between Alexandria and Beirut universities to dispatch professors of bone and burns' surgeries to help in the treatment of Beirut blast patients.
